A gift to the Nation of New Zealand from our past Chiefs of Song. Manahau Music wish to honor
our past and present Maori song writers, composers, vocal artists and musicians by compiling
Waiata Maori singing albums in various formats. There is also a Maori music book published by
A H Reed Book Publishers which features a music manuscript, a profile on the songwriters on the
songs, including English translations. As we have been through the Millenium celebrations at
Hikurangi, we must remember the Tupuna who influenced our lives and future, bearing in mind
there were two world wars and a depression happening at the time and yet it was during those
times that the most beautiful and remarkable artforms were produced and so were the songs that
were written and composed and are still going strong with us today with demand from different
audiences of our society.
