Between the 1930’s and 1970’s ports were so full of life - of barges and tugs, trains and cranes, dockers and ships of every shape and size. This video pays tribute to two of the most famous shipping companies , Shaw Savill and Royal Mail, who had their own distinctive style, reputation for innovation, style and service which grew out of more than a hundred years of continuous sailings to every corner of the world. We sail with such famous ships as the Highland boats, Dominion Monarch, Amazon, Gothic, Andes, Corinthic, Southern Cross and Northern Star.
